A table of the purest form of life:
Of fresh, deep red meat,
Of raw, still warm milk,
Of homemade jogurt, in a clay vase,
Of fresh eggs, still dirty, with hard shells and orange yolks,
Of Sauerkraut, put to ferment by a woman you know well,
Of small berries and big pears, ripe and sweet in taste.
Have you ever seen such a gift of nature?
This gift is one of past times, one which can rarely still be seen and savored today.
One of the places in which this gift can still be received is Romania.
The country I receive this gift currently, for every day I am here.
Surrounded by farmers, butchers, cheese makers and traditional cooks.
By men and women who abide by the teachings of generations, who are true masters of their craft.
And who bring forth incredible creations.
It may sound stupid to put food in such a high place, but it is not mere food.
It is real nutrition of the body and mind.
Especially when compared to the western diet.
Low-quality, processed foods are normalised to the point that kids are getting no nutrients from school food.
Packaged with colorful labels with flavor enhancers, to make the dead, sloppy food appetizing.
No probiotics, no untouched nutrients,
No fresh meat, yogurt cultivated by hand, eggs fresh from the ground.
This is living food.
Food from a natural and healthy ground, from a natural and healthy animal is living. And this energy of pure life flows into its consumer.
How couldn’t you feel tired and unenergized from food you have not even touched with your hand? You do not know where it comes from?
Who picked or butchered it and how?
You are bloated and have brain fog because the food you eat is as dead as a brick wall.
It's rare we ever feel nostalgic from the times of adolescence when eating.
Because nothing compares to pure, local food.
